Classes

Our faux finishing classes are taught in our newly renovated classroom featuring two-story windows providing students abundant daylight to work on their craft. The classroom is designed to suit the needs expressed by students for comfort, convenience and inspiration.

Our professional, hands-on workshops provide all the necessary instruction and materials to take your ideas beyond the ordinary! All class times are from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm unless noted otherwise.

Registration Policy: A 50% deposit is required to reserve your class. Balance is due 7 days prior to the first day of the class. You also have the option of paying the class fee in full with the online registration. Faux Design Studio reserves the right to change or cancel classes. A two week notice is required by the student for changes or cancellations. If 2 week notice is not received a 25% penalty will be assessed on the refund. Special Guest Instructor Classes: No refunds or rescheduling will be allowed within 14 days of the class.

Color Inspiration Series

This professional 5 day workshop will include over 25 finishes- and covers every aspect of  the current finishes that are in demand. Each day, 5 samples will be completed with inspiration from a single shade of color. Take the series or create your own class by selecting the colors that spark your interest.  You can take the whole series or just pick the classes you want.  $275 each or the entire series for $1375.00.

Shades of Red: Energize your portfolio with these five amazing sophisticates. From the strength of scarlet to the subtlety of maroon, your clients will lust after these finishes, sure to spark interest. Embossed patterns, waxes, and stencils are a few of the several techniques that are covered in this one day workshop.

Shades of Blue:  Clearly 2013’s hottest color, shades of blue are everywhere. This workshop includes everything from patterns and stripes to animal skins.  By using specialty rollers these multi-dimensional effects are quick to complete,  but dramatic to see! Metallics, plasters, and suedes are a few of the products that will be used in this class

Shades of Gold: This 24k workshop teaches “must-have” finishes for any professional’s portfolio. Dramatic patterns and shimmery metallic all done in the currently trendy shade of gold are included in this one day workshop. Embossing, all-over pattern repeating, and metallic applications are all a part of this class.

Shades of Green: From tranquil to dramatic, the shades of green can vary more than most colors. These luxe finishes range from the elaborate to the subdued and are all completed by using rollers, trowels and techniques that make them quick to complete and sellable! This one day class will cover 5 unique effects.

Shades of Gray: This new neutral cannot be ignored and is finding it’s way into every color scheme, whether as background or focal point. Gorgeous metallic effects, dramatic New cabinet class, professional update class, and more!  Click on the class listings to the right for more information.
